Some journeys are simply travelled. This one is savoured slowly, curve after curve, as the landscape changes colour before your eyes. From the historic streets of Boston to the harbours of Maine, from mountains wrapped in fall foliage to the rolling hills of Vermont, all the way to the ocean at Cape Cod: this is the most authentic New England, experienced on the road, with the freedom to stop wherever your heart desires.

Day 1 – Welcome to New England
Arrival in Boston and check-in at an elegant boutique hotel in the heart of the city’s most charming neighbourhood, among gas lamps, cobbled streets and red-brick houses. A first stroll to soak up the atmosphere, followed by a welcome dinner.
Days 2–3 – Along the coast
Heading north, with a stop in a small town with a mysterious, legendary past. The road then follows the Maine coastline, past picturesque harbours and lighthouses that have watched over the ocean for centuries, to an enchanting fishing village of wooden cottages and white sails. A boat trip to admire the coast from the sea, and a first taste of fresh lobster.
Days 4–5 – Among forests and waterfalls
The sea gives way to the mountains of New Hampshire, where the forests blaze with red, orange and gold. Days spent among crystal-clear lakes, glacier-carved gorges, natural pools and covered bridges, perhaps with a ride on a historic train through the peaks. In the evening, a refined dinner at a mountain inn.
Days 6–7 – Authentic Vermont
Scenic roads dotted with red barns and wooden bridges lead into the Green Mountains. Picture-postcard villages, farms producing artisan cheeses, maple syrup and cider, and small wineries to discover at leisure. A land that lives by the rhythm of the seasons, with farm-to-table cuisine to savour.
Day 8 – Nature and tranquillity
Down along the Connecticut River valley, through woods, orchards and colonial villages. A restorative stay in a retreat surrounded by nature, where time seems to slow down.
Days 9–10 – Cape Cod
The landscape opens onto the Atlantic: dunes, endless beaches, white lighthouses and fishing villages. The most thrilling moment? A trip out to sea to spot whales in their natural habitat.
Day 11 – Martha’s Vineyard
A short ferry ride to New England’s most elegant island: silver-grey shingled houses, pastel cottages, piers and little harbours. A day to enjoy by bike or on foot, with the ocean always in view.
Days 12–13 – Boston, art and history
Return to Boston with a stop at America’s oldest university. Days spent along the Freedom Trail, in the great museums, the Italian quarter and the art galleries, saying goodbye to New England at an unhurried pace.
Day 14 – Farewell
Free time in the city before the flight home to Italy, with the colours of autumn still in your eyes.
